PALOMA, Ill. — Two women were injured in a car crash on U.S. 24 on Sunday afternoon in Adams County.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched at 4:52 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, to U.S. 24 at E. 1625th Street for a motor vehicle crash. Yessica Johnson, 51, of Coatsburg was driving a 2015 Dodge Durango eastbound on U.S. 24 when she crossed the center line and struck a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Jenna E. Settles, 35, of Rushville, who was driving westbound on U.S. 24.

Johnson’s vehicle then went off the road and struck a front porch to a residence before coming to a stop. She was transported to Blessing Hospital by the Adams County Ambulance for moderate injuries. Settles was transported to Blessing Hospital by private vehicle to be evaluated for possible injuries. 

Johnson was cited for improper lane usage. Both women were wearing their seat belts. The crash remains under investigation.
