Two women injured in single-vehicle crash Thursday night on Gardner Expressway

QUINCY — Two women were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Gardner Expressway on Thursday night.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded to 1401 Gardner Expressway at 5:02 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, across from Pomp’s Tire. When deputies arrived, they saw a blue 2022 Nissan Frontier, driven by Lisa Smith, that had left side of the road, struck a utility pole and then a tree.

Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, got out of the truck on her own. Passenger Brittany Borne, who was not wearing a seat belt, had to be removed from the vehicle by the Quincy Fire Department. Both women were transported to Blessing Hospital for injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

The Quincy Police Department and Adams County Ambulance Department provided assistance.
