DAILY DIRT: BIGSIGH falls just shy of reaching the medal stand in The Great Plate Debate

… Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 1,140 of The Daily Dirt.

1. The Daily Dirt Great Plate Debate Board of Control thought long and hard about the BIGSIGH entry it received a few days ago.

In the end, however, BIGSIGH was denied a spot on the medal stand as this year’s contest moves toward the closing curtain.

BIG SIGH, submitted by loyal reader Jo Lynn Tappe, came “that close” to unearthing WAR PIGS from its bronze medal position.

“That was a tough one,” board member Chris P. Bacon said. “At this time of the year, it takes a hall of fame candidate to remove one of the medal-worthy plates and we felt BIGSIGH fell just short.”

And so it goes … as we move to the final 19 days of the 2024 competition.
