Daily Dirt: ‘Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?’
Daily Dirt for Jan. 8, 2022
As a certified doctor of love, I fully understand how important that initial pickup is … Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 180 of the Daily Dirt.
1. First of all, I’m glad I have been married for a long time, but I still remember those “single” days and all the angst that accompanied them.
The most difficult part of making a connection with a girl was breaking the proverbial ice. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so that’s why your first line always has to hit a home run..The following were three of the worst pickup lines reported on ponly.com. What do you think? Have you ever tried anything similar?
Gold medal: “Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?”
Silver medal: “Excuse me, do you know how much a polar bear weighs? No? Me neither, but it breaks the ice”.
Bronze medal: “If you were a vegetable, you’d be a CUTEcumber”.
2. Here’s five more of my favorite sports names:
Faraj Fartass, a rugby player.
Matt Haryasz, former center for Stanford’s men’s basketball team.
Yoshie Yakeshito, a Japanese tennis player.
Dean Windass, a Premier League soccer player in England.
Keith Toogood, former placekicker at Texas Tech.
3. I’m sure not many people were aware, but Chicago Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan made NBA history earlier this week when he hit back-to-back game-winning shots — both of them three-pointers.
That’s the first time in the history of the NBA that particular feat had been accomplished.
Steve Fact O’ The Day
Steve suggests going with the gold-medal pickup line. “But avoid No. 3 at all costs,” he also advised.
Steve Eighinger writes daily for Muddy River News. He is not certified, but he may be certifiable.
