Daily Dirt for July 17, 2021

Three thoughts for this fine summer day. This, friends, is Vol. 9:
1. TV fans, the newest “NCIS” franchise, “NCIS Hawai’i,” debuts at 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 on CBS. Now if we could just get a firm date for “Yellowstone” on Paramount, I’d really be happy.
2. Speaking of season debuts, “60 Minutes” will return for a 54th year on CBS come Sept. 12. Do you realize that has been a prime-time staple since the late 1960s?
3. America’s most popular — and disliked — pizza toppings? According to yougov.com:
Most popular
A. Pepperoni, 64 percent: A must-have for any combination of toppings. If there’s no pepperoni, there is no eating the pizza.
B. Sausage, 56 percent: I can take it or leave it. I would certainly rank it below mushrooms.
C. Mushroom, 54 percent: Nothing better than a little tasty fungus.
D. Extra cheese, 53 percent: If anything, I prefer less cheese. Too much is too gooey.
E. Onions, 48 percent: Not a bad fifth choice, but I prefer them lightly sprinkled and slice extremely thin.
Most disliked
A. Anchovies, 61 percent: Totally disgusting.
B. Eggplant, 52 percent: No way.
C. Artichokes, 44 percent: What??
D. Broccoli, 39 percent: Ugh.
E. Pineapple, 35 percent: I would actually move this to No. 3 on the most popular list.
