Daily Dirt: Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys (Dallas or otherwise)
Daily Dirt for Aug. 10, 2021

I love movies. All movies. Well, I’m not crazy about musicals, but that’s another topic for another day. And what makes a movie great? One of the things is an iconic quote. And that’s what we’re dealing with today atop the three items that make up Vol. 33 of the Daily Dirt:
1. Here are five more of my all-time favorite movie remembrances:
A. “If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.” Liam Neeson, “Taken,” 2008. (The moment Neeson uttered those words, we knew the bad guys were absolute toast.)
B. “Yo, Adrian!” — Sylvester Stallone, “Rocky,” 1976. (I often find myself strolling through the house, saying to myself, “Yo, Little Woman!”)
C. “Go ahead, make my day,” — Clint Eastwood, “Sudden Impact,” 1983. (And, of course, he did.)
D. “After all, tomorrow is another day,” — Clark Gable, “Gone with the Wind,” 1939. (After all of these years, still an awesome, awesome movie.)
E. “Hasta la vista, baby,” — Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” 1991. (I’ve often thought Liam Neeson, Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger all together would have been an incredible action film — with a tremendous accent on revenge.)
2. Mark it down. Season 11 of the “The Walking Dead” — the series’ swan song — debuts Aug. 22. This magnificent program is certainly going out in style, with a whopping 24-episode season. How will it all end and who will survive. This, friends, will be must-see TV.
3. Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys — Dallas or otherwise. Point them toward the NBA. Here are the leading NBA salaries going into the 2021-22 season:
A. Stephen Curry, $43,006,362.
B. Chris Paul, $41,358,814.
C. Russell Westbrook, $41,358,814.
D. James Harden, $41,254,920.
E. John Wall, $41,254,920.
F. LeBron James, $39,219,566.
G. Kevin Durant, $39,058,950.
H. Blake Griffin, $36,810,996.
I. Paul George, $35,361,360.
