‘Post Malone Oreos’ to be in stores Feb. 3 … Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 1,184 of The Daily Dirt.

1. Post Malone, the singer who has gained distinction from blending genres like rap, pop, rhythm and blues and country, has a new partner.

Would you believe … Oreo cookies?

The famous sandwich-creme cookie will be launching “Limited Edition Post Malone Oreos” in Feb. 3. “This will) turn the original Oreo cookie on its head in an innovative way,” according to Gino Vivinetto of today.com. The new Oreo combines salted caramel- and shortbread-flavored cremes, sandwiched between an Oreo chocolate cookie and its signature golden cookie.
Each cookie also features one of nine “unique embossments” inspired by Post Malone’s life and music, including a guitar, a butterfly and a pickup truck. The back of each cookie package boasts a handwritten signed note from the singer himself.

“Can’t believe they let me make my own Oreo cookie. So happy everyone gets to try the taste twist — hope you love it as much as I do, ’cause I think it’s the best Oreo ever!” said Malone, 29 (whose real name is Austin Richard Post), in a statement. “It’s the first time Oreo has ever twisted the creme of the cookie and they named it after me.”

Tanya Berman, a senior vice president at Mondelēz, Oreo’s parent company, said in a statement, “With an iconic brand like Oreo, our challenge is to consistently raise the bar and discover fresh ways to engage our fans. This collaboration with Post Malone sets a new standard. We hope fans are as excited about the brand’s newest hit as we are.”The collaboration follows the release of Malone’s latest album, “F-1 Trillion,” which features popular country musicians like Tim McGraw, Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton and Jelly Roll. Malone and the album received seven Grammy nominations, including “Best Country Album,” “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” and “Best Country Song.”

2. Did you know (Part 256)

  • That giraffes are 30 times more likely to be struck by lightning than humans. Must be the neck.
  • That pigs cannot look up at the sky. It’s that neck thing again.
  • That a blue whale’s tongue can weigh as much as a young elephant.
  • That each dog has a different nose print, much like humans have different fingerprints.
  • That in 1524, the last letter to be added to the English alphabet was the letter “j.” Before it became a letter, the letter “i” was used for both “i” and “j.”

3. The late Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Otto’s football injuries and football-related ailments were almost as famous as his playing talent.

Here’s a look at what Otto, who famously wore No. 00 for the Oakland Raiders, endured during his career:

  • More than 30 concussions.
  • 25 broken noses.
  • 2 cauliflower ears from being kicked in the side of the head.
  • 1 detached retina.
  • 28 knee operations.
  • Broken jaw.
  • Broken ribs.
  • Broken cheekbone
  • Both shoulders replaced.
  • Broken zygomatic arch bone (part of the skull)
  • 3 near-death experiences related to infections or septic shock from football-related surgeries.
  • After his career, he was forced to have his right leg amputated above the knee.
  • Numerous torn muscles, groin pulls, sprained ankles, hip pointers, neck stingers and kicked-out teeth.

“I was paid to play football, not hang out in the training room. I have no regrets, and would do it all over again,” Otto once said.

Otto died in May 2024 at age 86.
