DAILY DIRT: Raise your hand if you ever had a McPizza, Bubblegum McFlurry or a McHotDog

Daily Dirt for Friday, July 12, 2024
And I’m serious about that comment concerning the old Onion Nuggets … Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 1,003 of The Daily Dirt.
1. Have you ever pulled up to the drive-through at McDonald’s, looked at the menu and asked yourself, “Don’t they ever change this menu?”
Well, the truth is, yes they do. Here’s a sampling of McDonald’s offerings that have left us over the years:
- — Fish McBites
- — McSalad Shakers
- — McLobster
- — Cinnabon Melts
- — Bubblegum McFlurry (Ugh. Simply ugh.)
- — McFeast (It was a short-lived sandwich, not some bizarre meal)
- — Son of Mac
- — McJordan
- — McPizza (This was quality. I once drove 65 miles, just to order one of these because the McDonald’s restaurants closest to me did not have the McPizzas on their menus.)
- — Snack Wraps
- — McSoup
- — Strawberry Cheesecake McFlurry
- — Cheddar Melts
- — Onion Nuggets (These were magnificent. Come on, guys, bring them back. Please.)
- — McGratin Croquette
- — McHotDog (Terrible. Simply terrible.)
- — Chopped Beefsteak sandwich
- — Arch Deluxe (This was a great sandwich that was put to rest well before its time)
- — Big ‘N Tasty
- — Chicken Fajitas
- — CBO Sandwich (FYI: Chicken, bacon, onion)
- — Mighty Wings
- — Eggs Benedict McMuffin
- — Chicken Selects
- — McDLT
- — Fruit and Yogurt Parfait
- — McAfrika

- — “Where do bad rainbows go? To prism. It’s a light sentence, but it gives them time to reflect.”
Steve Thought O’ The Day — What’s more embarrassing this season, being a White Sox fan or a Cubs fan? Both have an excellent chance to finish last in their divisions. That has happened just once in the last 75 years.
