But will the new first lady of the NFL be able to be at the Super Bowl? … Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 856 of The Daily Dirt.

1. Never underestimate the power of a woman, especially one as successful — and popular — as Taylor Swift. (Yes, the Daily Dirt is officially adopting Taylor Swift as our favorite non-sports person. I guess I’m … a Swifty!)

CNN reports a business group has estimated the brand value of Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has generated $331 million for the team and NFL. That’s according to Apex Marketing.

Radio, TV and social media exposures were tracked to come up with that figure, according to CNN. That includes any mention or photo of Swift tied to the NFL or the Chiefs. Examples include a photo of her at the game wearing a Chiefs jersey or a mention of the Chiefs with her in a news article.

The media exposure has led to increased viewership for certain NFL games and many Swifties are buying sports jerseys for the first time.

It’s estimated that “brand value” might reach $1 billion by the time the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers play in Super Bowl LVIII.

There is no word yet on whether Swift will be at the Feb. 11 Super Bowl in Las Vegas. She kicks off the international leg of her Eras Tour on Feb. 7 in Tokyo.

2. If you’re a vegan, you might want to skip this next part.

The countries that consume the most meat per person per year are:

Gold medal: Hong Kong, 302 pounds per person. Beef noodle soup is the favorite meal in Hong Kong.

Silver medal: United States, 274 pounds per person. That’s a lot of Big Macs.

Bronze medal: Australia, 268 pounds per person. The Aussies’ favorite meal is a burger with beetroot (yes, it’s part of a beet plant — apparently there are no French fries in the land down under).

Honorable mention: Argentina, 242 pounds per person. Barbecue, presumably of any kind, is this nation’s favorite dish.

For those interested, India consumes the least meat per person at 8 pounds per year.

3. It’s time for Day 2 of Chuckfest, our weekend tribute to the man, the myth, the legend: Chuck Norris.

  • Chuck Norris does not mow the lawn. He stares at the grass and dares it to grow.
  • When Chuck Norris goes to your house to visit you, YOU are the guest.
  • Chuck Norris does not age. Time simply does not to mess with Chuck Norris.
  • Chuck Norris can leave tomorrow and show up yesterday.
  • Chuck Norris can punch a Cyclops between the eye.
  • Chuck Norris can throw a right hook with his left hand.
  • Chuck Norris built the hospital he was born in.
  • When Chuck Norris was born, he drove his parents home.
  • Chuck Norris learned to read from a book he wrote.
  • Chuck Norris can find a needle in a haystack at night.
  • When Chuck Norris goes to a restaurant, the waiter tips HIM.
  • When astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped off the lunar module on to the moon, he bumped into Chuck Norris.
  • Chuck Norris uses pepper spray to season his food.

Steve Thought O’ The Day – According to an article in Black Belt magazine, Chuck Norris enjoys lots of green vegetables with baked, skinless chicken breast or free-range salmon with brown rice and red baked potato. (What did you expect? Pizza and pomegranates?)

Steve Eighinger writes daily for Muddy River News. Can he name three Taylor Swift songs?
