Letter to the Editor: Uzelac’s passion for Quincy is unmatched in 7th Ward
I’m writing this letter in support of Ben Uzelac for 7th Ward alderman. Uzelac has championed change in the 7th Ward with his vote and his own dollars. His passion for Quincy is unrivaled in this year’s 7th Ward race.
Uzelac has one trait above the rest: his passion for Quincy. Professionally, Uzelac is a talented software programmer, and he could easily move from Quincy or work remotely for a tech firm. When the company he worked for closed unexpectedly in 2021, he chose to stay and partnered to start his own small business in the spring of 2022.
He didn’t start his company in Missouri for tax incentives. He didn’t set up his company just outside city limits. He put his business right in his ward. That’s what you call putting your money where your mouth is. He’s betting on Quincy!
The changes Uzelac has helped realize are real, and the physical changes alone in the 7th Ward are noticeable. Private investment along with millions of state dollars are continuing to transform the Sixth Street Promenade from a ghost town into popular nightlife and shopping spot. Uzelac has consistently voted in favor of dollars going to that area, supporting small business and Quincy with every vote.
Uzelac lives in the 7th Ward. He works in the 7th Ward. He fights for the 7th Ward.
I want someone passionate about Quincy and sees the bright future ahead for our small city. I want a good person who gives a damn. That’s what Ben Uzelac is — a good guy who gives a damn about Quincy!
I’m supporting Ben Uzelac, the only candidate in the 7th Ward who has the record we can count on for continued growth in Quincy. I encourage you to do the same.
