Four more file for Adams County Board seats; District 3 race gets crowded
QUINCY — Four more candidates filed for Adams County Board on Wednesday, including two incumbents and two challengers.
Republican incumbents Marvin Kerkhoff and Dave Bellis filed for re-election in District 3 as did newcomer Rodney Hermsmeier.
Incumbent Republican Raquel Sparrow filed for re-election in District 3 on Monday, but with three more Republicans filing, now four are running for three seats in the June 28 GOP Primary.
Democrat Sarah Lucey had also filed to run in District 3.
Kate Daniels, chairman of the Adams County Democratic Party Central Committee, also filed to run for County Board in District 7. Two incumbents, Joe Zanger and Theresa Bockhold, filed in District 7 on Monday along with first-time candidate Jeremy Allen on the Republican ballot.
Up to three members from each party can advance from the June 28 primary to the November 8 general election, where the top three vote-getters, regardless of party, will win seats in each County Board district.
