Frese steps down early, Moore expected to be slated as 99th District House rep
The 99th Representative District Committee announced a vacancy in the Illinois House of Representatives due to the resignation of Randy Frese. The Committee’s appointment will serve the remainder of Frese’s term in the 103rd General Assembly.
In accordance with state statute, vacancies created in the General Assembly must be filled within 30 days.
Former Quincy Mayor and current Great River Economic Development Foundation President/CEO Kyle Moore was elected to the seat in November. Sources tell Muddy River News that Moore will be simply slotted in by the committee and the nomination process is merely a formality.
The General Assembly will meet the week of Jan. 6 in its “lame duck” session, thus the reason for Frese’s resignation which allows Moore to take the seat before regular General Assembly session begins later in January.
The Representative District Committee is made up of Republican leaders from the 99th district:
- Dave Bockhold (Adams Co.)
- Billy Burges (Brown Co.)
- Debra Lewis (Cass Co.)
- Chris Ginder (Morgan Co.)
- Jason Goddard (Schuyler Co.)
The Committee will convene at 2:00 pm on Friday, Jan.d 3 to review all applicant information, conduct interviews of select candidates, and appoint the replacement for this House of Representatives vacancy. The meeting will be held at the Adams County Courthouse, Regional Superintendent of Schools conference room, 507 Vermont Street, Quincy, and is open to the public.
Interested applicants must have lived within the 99th District for two years and submit a resume by email to jaymesiemer@gmail.com. You can call 217-553-7743 for more details.
Applicant information MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 5:00PM ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2025. Resumes received after that date and time will not be considered. For general information, please contact Jayme Siemer at jaymesiemer@gmail.com.
