Adams County early vote totals as Election Day draws near; polling places and ballot listed
QUINCY – At the close of business on Friday, nearly 13,000 of Adams County’s votes for Tuesday’s general election had already been cast.
That’s a little more than 29 percent according to Adams County Clerk Ryan Niekamp. Those totals consisted of 11,062 early votes and 1,918 votes by mail.
In 2020, more than 17,500 people in Adams County voted before Election Day.
The big-ticket item on the ballot is the presidential contest between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is also on the presidential ballot, but he has withdrawn from the race and pledged his support to Trump.
There is only one contested local race on the Adams County ballot and that is for County Board District 1 between the incumbent Democrat Todd Duesterhaus and his Republican challenger Tim Siemer. Duesterhaus is the lone Democrat on the 21-seat county board.
Votes can still be cast on Monday at the courthouse between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and, of course, on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your respective polling place (listed below).
