Blackledge gets probation revoked, she and Yohn could face additional charges related to November attack

QUINCY — The Quincy woman who allegedly was involved in a November carjacking and kidnapping had multiple probation violations leading up to the attack.

Karen D. Blackledge, 33, was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday morning before Judge Robert Adrian. Adrian told Blackledge that her probation on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Use of a Forged or Stolen Debit card had been revoked following multiple missed check-ins and failed drug tests.

Blackledge pleaded guilty to those two charges in April 2021. Adrian said she can be resentenced on those charges and they could be served consecutively with any future charges she might be found guilty of.

Adrian also wondered why the Adams County Probation Department had not alerted the court or the State’s Attorney’s office about these multiple probation violations, which led up to her alleged involvement in the Nov. 9 attack during a home invasion and carjacking along Quincy’s North Bottom Road.

The victim in that attack died over the past weekend and now Blackledge and her alleged accomplice, Bradley S. Yohn, 34 of Springfield, could face additional charges in that case if it is determined her death was caused by the incident. Yohn was in court yesterday.

Blackledge and Yohn have both pleaded not guilty to two counts of home invasion, one count of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of residential burglary. Yohn allegedly used force or the threat of force with a knife to take a vehicle and kidnap a woman. He then reportedly used force to enter the woman’s home.

They were arrested on Nov. 10 in Springfield and remain in the Adams County Jail.

Both cases have been moved from the January trial docket to February. Blackledge will be back in court on Jan. 12 for a status hearing and Yohn’s next appearance is scheduled for Jan. 11.
