Early Tin Dusters and hundreds of vintage vehicles to descend upon Quincy this weekend
QUINCY- The Early Tin Dusters arrive in Quincy Oct. 18, 19 and 20. New events include a rock and roll ladies’ bingo and the “Sounds of Motown” performance.
The Early Tin Dusters have teamed up with Turee Entertainment and Ruff Flock Entertainment to bring “Sounds of Motown” to Quincy. The performance is on Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m.
There will be an event for a “ladies time out,” to play bingo and guess different songs and artists of classic rock and roll.
Richard Chapman with the Early Tin Dusters also created a raffle to reward new participants and the people who referred them to the event.
“If they have a pre 49 street rod, and they’ve never been to the show before, then we’re going to put their name in a hat for a drawing for a cash credit card,” Chapman said.
Chapman hopes this will encourage a younger crowd to participate in the weekend.
All the money raised this weekend will go to Camp Callahan, a summer camp for physically and mentally disabled children and adults.
Holly Cain from See Quincy anticipates a busy downtown this weekend.
“Downtown will be full of people looking at the 1949 cars and older,” Cain said. “There will be merchants and vendors with food. I think it’s the best fall weekend.”
“We’ve got a program for people under 29, for some special recognition for those builders,” Chapman said.
The street rods will be on display in downtown Quincy on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday at Upper Moorman Park from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
