QUINCY — A new business hopes to help get people around Quincy.

Integrity Community Taxi aims to provide a reliable, reputable and accessible transportation method for the citizens of Quincy.

Owners Jay Albert and Landon Tenhouse met years ago during an EMT training course but moved on into different careers. Albert is a paramedic, and Tenhouse is an EMT firefighter. The men were spending time in emergency rooms and noticed mental health patients sitting through long wait times.

They teamed up in October 2021 to start their first business venture — Integrity Secure Transport, which brings patients suffering from mental health issues to mental health facilities. That grew into their next venture, Integrity Community Transport, which provides medical transportation in non-emergency situations.

“In that time, we were getting a lot of calls for people just needing general transportation,” Albert said.

Integrity Transport Solutions now has a new focus: Integrity Community Taxi. Riders can request cars via phone (217-334-0009), website (integritycommunitytaxi.com) or app (Search Integrity Taxi: Ride Quincy on the App Store).

Unlike ride-share services, Integrity employs and sets the hours for their drivers, allowing consistent and reliable service.

“We know these people,” Albert said of Integrity’s drivers. “They’re local people who are doing the driving for us, well vetted.”

The name Integrity comes from Albert’s time in the Marine Corps Reserves.

“One of their values of honor incorporates integrity,” he said. “To have integrity means to do what’s right when nobody is looking.”

Integrity Community Taxi is available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Riders within the larger Quincy area are typically transported. If a client wants to be transported at an additional time or to a further location, they can call in advance to schedule.

Whether riders are hoping for rides to the store, a lift to the train station or a designated driver on a night out, Integrity has them covered.

“We’re locally owned. We’re dependable and safe,” Albert said.

“Ultimately, I hope we become everybody’s number one choice in Quincy … for transportation,” Tenhouse said.
