LEGO builders from across country invited to Ultimate Brick Show in May at Oakley-Lindsay Center
QUINCY — The inaugural Ultimate Brick Show will be held May 4-5 at the Oakley-Lindsay Center. Contestants from the hit FOX television show “LEGO Masters” will be onsite along with LEGO displays and vendors from across the country.
Build Challenges with Tim Croll and a kid’s zone play area will be featured throughout the two-day event.
The event is open to the public. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers expect attendees to spend a portion of the day with many hands-on activities for all ages. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 3 and under are free.
“We plan for Quincy be an annual show location along with our current show in Marion,” organizer James Stark said in a press release. “Quincy is my hometown, and we want to engage in the community and give back to Quincy.
“We are currently seeking all LEGO builders to offer them a free display space at the event. We know there are creative builders across the world, and by offering a midwestern location, we should have a good showing of MOC (My Own Creation) builders attending, especially with the dates. With ‘May the Fourth’, we expect the ‘Star Wars’ themes to be prevalent.”

“LEGO is not just for children but for all ages,” said Holly Cain, executive director of the Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to the show bringing in 8,000 attendees and growing into a large annual event in Quincy each spring, complimented by the traditional Dogwood festivities.”
