Loraine man killed in Saturday night traffic accident on Illinois Route 336

LORAINE, Ill. — A Loraine man was killed in a traffic crash that happened Saturday night at Illinois Route 336 and East 1500^th Street in Loraine.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department learned at approximately 8:37 p.m. about a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found the two vehicles in the northbound lane of Illinois Route 336. The northbound lanes were closed to approximately five hours and re-opened at approximately 2 a.m.

Adams County Coroner Scott Graham confirmed that Daniel R. McMullen, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people with moderate injuries were transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police. The coroner’s office was assisted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Adams County Ambulance Service, Loraine Fire Department and the Mendon Fire Department.
