Mayor Troup begins Quincy’s top job

Quincy Mayor Mike Troup sat down with Muddy River News This Week to discuss getting the ball rolling as Quincy’s Mayor. He talks about his leadership team, led by Director of Administrative Services (DAS) Jeff Mays.

Mays, a former state representative and director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security under former Governor Bruce Rauner, was the city’s DAS during Kyle Moore’s last two years in office. Troup said he convinced Mays to stay in job, saying the aldermen felt he did an excellent job.

Troup said he would announce his choice as the city’s Human Resources director next week.
