Quincy man arrested following alleged break-in at downtown C-Store
QUINCY — Quincy Police arrested a Quincy man twice Sunday, once after they released him, citing the rules of the Illinois Safe-T Act.
Just after 9 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the area of 6th and Payson for a report of a disturbance. Anthony Gilker, 34, was subsequently arrested for Resisting a Peace Officer during that incident. Gilker was cited and released, per the Illinois Safe-T Act, on a Notice to Appear.
Following Gilker’s release, about an a hour later, officers were sent to 235 S. 8th for an alarm at Cenex One Stop and found the glass broken on the front door and a broken case of beer on the parking lot. Gilker was located walking in the area and detained by officers.
After reviewing surveillance footage Gilker was then arrested for Burglary and lodged in the Adams County Jail based on the continuing criminal activity.
