Quincy man recently released arrested again after allegedly firing shots
QUINCY — A Quincy man who was released from the Adams County Jail on Aug. 8 while awaiting a review of an Aggravated Battery case was arrested Wednesday after allegedly discharging a firearm.
At around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Quincy Police responded to the 4200 block of Maine on a report of a man with a gun. Information was provided that the man had pointed a firearm at another person and also discharged the firearm in the area.
Prior to officers arriving on scene, police were told the suspect had fled. The Quincy Police K-9 Officer and his K-9 partner conducted a track for the suspect and located a backpack with a reported stolen firearm a short distance away from the scene.
The suspect, Chase M. Longcor, 22, of Quincy, was later located in the area and was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Adams County Jail. He faces charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Armed Violence, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by Felon, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
Longcor had appeared before Judge Holly Henze on Aug. 8 and pled guilty to a charge of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer while a count of Aggravated Battery with the Intent to cause great bodily harm was dismissed. He was sentenced to 24 months conditional discharge and 180 days in the Adams County Jail with jail time stayed and given credit for 56 days.
That case was set to be reviewed on Dec. 5, but he will now get to go back before a judge Thursday morning.
