QUINCY — Quincy Police made an arrest Saturday morning involving a suspect in multiple package thefts throughout the city.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, officers spotted Ashley Allen, who they knew to have active arrest warrants, in the area of Fifth and Cherry. Allen fled on foot but was located later in the day.

Officers located numerous pieces of stolen mail from different residences throughout the northwest areas of Quincy in Allen’s possession. Officers then connected some of the stolen mail to an ongoing package theft investigation which took place on on Dec. 9. Once the connection was made between the two cases, officers utilized surveillance footage to identify Allen as the suspect in the package theft.

During the package and mail thefts, officers suspect Allen used a white GMC truck while allegedly committing the crimes.

Allen was lodged in the Adams County Jail for possession of stolen property, felony theft, failure to appear for fraud and failure to appear for theft.
