Quincy Police searching for man who robbed HyVee gas station on Harrison Thursday afternoon

UPDATE: The Quincy Police Department said in a Friday afternoon press release that the suspect was wearing a dark jacket, a gray hoodie underneath and what appears to be dark pants. A black hood or mask was pulled over his face, but at one point, he pulled his glasses down. The suspect appears to be a white male with a slender build and is approximately 6 feet tall. QPD asks if anyone recognizes the clothing or the neon green gloves worn by the suspect.

QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is actively looking for a man who robbed a Quincy gas station on Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department responded at 4:18 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, to a call of an armed robbery at the HyVee gas station at 1300 Harrison.  A white male entered the business and demanded money from an employee while displaying a weapon.  The suspect took an unidentified amount of money and fled on foot toward Greenmount Cemetery.  There were no reported injuries. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Quincy Police Department at 217-228-4470 or Crimestoppers at 217-228-4474 to assist with the investigation.
