Ralls County man dead after Saturday shooting
RALLS COUNTY, Mo. — A Monroe City man died from a gunshot wound to the chest following an incident near Mark Twain Lake on Saturday.
Ralls County Sheriff Brad Stinson confirmed the victim’s name, Greg VanPelt.
The Ralls County Sheriff’s office first responded to the scene on Willow Lane near Route J in rural Monroe City on Saturday afternoon. They called the Missouri State Highway Patrol to assist in the investigation.
CPR was administered at the scene and was unsuccessful. A life flight was called to the scene and then canceled.
Sources reported to Muddy River News the incident was a neighbor dispute and the male shooter has not yet been identified.
