Two face kidnapping, burglary and sexual assault charges in North Bottom Road attack

QUINCY — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 6 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a burglary at a residence off North Bottom Road in rural Adams County.

It was learned that before the burglary one of the homeowners was the victim of a vehicular hijacking on North Bottom Road and forced back to their residence, which was then robbed.  It also was determined the vehicle the suspects used during the vehicular hijacking previouslywas reported stolen from a business in Quincy earlier in the day. 

The investigation led to the identification of two suspects — Bradley S. Yohn, 34, of Springfield, Ill., and Karen D. Blackledge, 33, of Quincy.

The sheriff’s office and the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit began looking for the two suspects. Both subjects were taken into custody at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Springfield, Ill. 

Yohn faces charges of home invasion (two counts), aggravated kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking, residential burglary and aggravated criminal sexual assault.  Bond was set at $10 million, with 10 percent to apply. Yohn also was charged on an additional vehicular hijacking that occurred in Adams County last week.

Blackledge faces charges of home invasion (two counts), aggravated kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking, residential burglary and aggravated criminal sexual assault. Bond was set at $5 million, with 10 percent to apply.
