Two taken into custody in connection with shots fired incident near 11th and Lind

QUINCY — A Quincy woman and a teenage male were taken into custody after a report of shots fired was called into the Quincy Police Department late Wednesday afternoon.

Officers from the Quincy Police Department were dispatched at 4:49 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 to the 1100 block of Lind for a shots fired call. Callers reported hearing shots fired, and during the investigation, expended shells were located at the scene. Officers received suspect vehicle information from witnesses, and a suspect was developed. 

A search warrant was received for 619 Harrison. Officers with Quincy Police Department Emergency Response Team served the search warrant, and a firearm was located. Chaunessi G. Cano and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody. 

Cano is lodged in the Adams County Jail, and the juvenile was lodged in the Adams County Youth Detention Facility. No injuries were reported with this incident.
