One dead following Saturday night crash on U.S. 24

CAMP POINT, Ill. – One person was killed in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 between Coatsburg and Camp Point Saturday night.
The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Officers with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find a vehicle off the north side of U.S. 24 overturned in a large ravine.
Adams County Coroner Scott Graham said the driver of the pickup was Luke W. Hedden, 21, of Mt. Sterling. He was pronounced dead on scene due to injuries sustained in the crash as the driver and sole occupant.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate. Central Adams Fire, Camp Point Fire, Clayton Fire, Adams County EMS also assisted.
