Payson man killed in single-vehicle crash

PAYSON, Ill. — A Payson man was killed Thursday night when his pickup hit a telephone pole on South Washington.

The driver, a 72-year-old male, was the lone passenger in the 2005 Ford. The truck hit a telephone pole on the east side of the road and it was the only vehicle involved in the accident. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Adams County Coroner Scott Graham will released the name of the deceased following full notification of the family.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
