QUINCY — A Quincy teenager is wanted by the Quincy Police Department in connection to a shooting incident Wednesday night on Jefferson Street between 11th and 12th Streets.

The Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant on Thursday for Victor A. Weems III, 19, for aggravated discharge of a firearm. Weems is considered armed and dangerous. The Quincy Police Department said in a press release Weems already was a wanted fugitive for home invasion, endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing identification and aggravated battery.

If you see Weems, the Quincy Police Department asks for you to call the local authorities and let them know about his whereabouts.

Officers responded to a call around 10:05 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers found a 47-year-old shooting victim at 1110 Jefferson. She was subsequently transported to Blessing Hospital for medical treatment before being taken to a Springfield hospital via AirEvac.

QPD officials say the incident does not appear to be random. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this crime shouldcontact the Quincy Police Department at 217-228-4470.
