Six people interested in filling vacant seat on Quincy Park Board
QUINCY — Six people have shown interest in filling the vacant seat on the Quincy Park Board, which will pick a replacement during its Wednesday meeting.
Trent Lyons, Ron Bridal, Margarita Oguilve, Richard Schmitt, Cisco Fuller and Josh Zanger all met a 5 p.m. deadline on Wednesday, July 5, to submit information to the Park District.
The board is searching for a replacement for Jeff Van Camp, who said he resigned from the Park Board last month because of how Jarid Jones was elected as president at the board’s May 11 meeting.
Van Camp, executive director of the Chaddock Children’s Foundation, was a commissioner for the Quincy Park Board from 2011 to 2015. He was selected from a field of four candidates in July 2022 to replace David Gilbert until May 1. Van Camp then ran unopposed in the April 4 election to fill the remainder of Gilbert’s term.
Park Board members are expected to meet with each of the candidates after Wednesday’s meeting and select one to be seated in time for the August planning session.
