Letter to the Editor: Trevathan wants to make Hannibal best possible place it can be

Kristy Trevathan

Hannibal native Kristy Trevathan, a longtime real estate agent, announced in June her intentions to run for Hannibal mayor. | Megan Duncan

Kristy Trevathan offers Hannibal a clear choice to support as the candidate for mayor who supports community improvement by inclusion, economic development and beautifying our hometown.

Kristy is a 1971 Hannibal High School graduate and a 1976 graduate of the University of Missouri. She taught in the Hannibal Public Schools for two years and at St. John’s Lutheran and Holy Family schools for an additional year. She was involved in home restoration with her late husband, Jeff, in River City Restoration from 1982 to 2008, and she has been a relator with Prestige Realty from 1986 to now, helping more than 1,000 of us find our forever homes.

Kristy has served on numerous civic boards in leadership positions, including the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce, Hannibal City Council (1st Ward 1993-96), City of Hannibal Public Library and Parks and Recreation boards, and Hannibal Arts Council and Bluff City Theater boards.

She is presently the Mark Twain Home Foundation vice president, a Hannibal Lions Club member and past president, chair of the City of Hannibal Tree Board, chair of the Historic District Development Corporation, and a member of Marion County Extension Services and Historic Hannibal marketing council beautification committee.

Kristy is clearly a busy person. Equally as clear is her desire to make Hannibal the best possible place it can be.

If you share these values, please join me in supporting Kristy Trevathan for mayor of Hannibal on Nov. 7 at the polls or before by absentee ballot.
