Letter to the Editor: Capitalism pulls you out of poverty, socialism makes you slave to government check

capitalism vs socialism

I’d like to add my two cents with Mark Felsman on the recent topic of capitalism versus socialism, which is just a fancy word to get around being called a communist in the real world.

Socialism has caused more than 100 million deaths in a little more than 100 years and countless miseries, with the leading choir boys behind this being Mao, Stalin and, if you take into account the population percentage, Castro. They killed their own people for their agendas, and as Margaret Thatcher stated, socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money.

Let’s not forget 2 Thessalonians 3:10, “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” A socialist isn’t into work. Just ask Bernie Sanders. He hasn’t worked a real job in his life, but he wants to dictate to capitalists. Then good ol’ Bernie says, “What’s wrong with bread lines? Because everyone gets bread.”

You can bet he’s at the front of the line.

So if Jesus is a socialist, I’d have to disagree with him. As Mr. Felsman stated, capitalism pulls you out of poverty. Socialism just makes you a slave to a government check.
