Letter to the Editor: Miller worthy of your vote for Western District Commissioner in Marion County

Lacey Miller

Lacey Miller

I am writing this letter in support of Lacey Miller, candidate for the Western District Commissioner’s position in Marion County.

First, let me say I appreciate the years of service that our current commissioners have put forward over the years, especially Steve Begley, who is stepping down after several terms. I live in the Eastern District, and I will be voting for Larry Welch.

However, some of you may recall I served as the chairman of the Marion County Republican Central Committee for some 12 years. Lacey Miller served as the vice chair of the committee for many of those years.  Lacey has demonstrated to me over the years her dedication and commitment to the success of Marion County.

She lives in western Marion County, just north of Monroe City, on a small farm where she and her husband, Nathan, raise their two teenage children, have a small cattle operation and raise grain crops.  Lacey and Nathan are very active in their children’s activities, including raising show cattle for the county and state fairs.  Lacey is very active in the Marion County Farm Bureau, the County Cattlemen’s Association and numerous other agriculture organizations.

I have personally seen Lacey and her mother in the halls of the Jefferson City capitol building, working the halls and lobbying for Marion County and the ag community.  I wish I could vote for her, but I do not live in the Western District. Therefore, my personal recommendation for the voters of Western District to vote for Lacey will have to do.

She is young, mature, active, involved and committed to the betterment and success of Marion County.  I am asking you to vote for Lacey Miller, candidate for Western District Commissioner, on Aug. 6.

You will not be sorry that you did.

Larry B. Craig
Former chairman, Marion County Republican Central Committee
