Lacey Miller

Who would be best to serve the future of the Western District of Marion County?

Lacey Miller has been a very active citizen of Marion County for her entire life. She was involved in 4-H as a youth and as a leader as an adult. She was very active in the Palmyra FFA chapter and graduated from the University of Missouri. These youth activities gave her many opportunities to develop leadership knowledge and skills that she passed on to the current youth in Marion County through 4-H, her church and other programs.

She is an active member of the Farm Bureau and the Marion County Republican Party. As one person wrote in an opinion piece, she is the “darling” of the Republican party, and she is — not because she is a lady but rather because she is a conservative, hardworking and forward-thinking young lady. This is what makes her the darling of the party.

I have known Lacey Miller for all of her life, and I can tell you she is one of the hardest working, most honest, knowledgeable and thoughtful people I have ever met. If you want someone to put Marion County first and come up with creative ideas on saving taxpayers’ money and taking care of all of the county — not just the roads and bridges — and who will fight for our fair share of what is due to the citizens of Marion County, then Lacey Miller is that person.

Lacey is not afraid to stand up and give her opinion, even if it is not the popular one but will be the right thing for Marion County.

There is a lot more to being the Western District Commissioner than knowing where each pothole or every trouble spot is and blading the county road. There are budgets, real estate, insurance, taxation, personnel and being able to communicate and interact with the public, just to name a few.

Lacey Miller has been attending the weekly commissioner’s meetings for months, listening, learning and researching the duties, policies and responsibilities of the job. I wish the other candidate would have done the same.

Join me on Nov. 5 (or before at either courthouse for early voting) and elect Lacey Miller, the right person, to be the next Western District Commissioner. Help put an end to the same “good old boy network.”
