Salvation Army announces assistance application dates for Angel Tree program, Christmas food box
QUINCY — The Salvation Army is taking applications in Quincy for Christmas food baskets and the Angel Tree program through Monday, Dec. 2. People living in Adams, Pike, and Brown counties in Illinois with children ages 18 and under or seniors over age 60 are invited to register for assistance online at www.SAAngelTree.org or in person at The Kroc Center on select dates.
With the Angel Tree program, parents/guardians register for their child’s needs and wishes. Children and seniors registered for the program may receive clothing, toys or other requested items listed at the time of registration. All who register for the Angel Tree Program will receive a food box filled with items for a Christmas meal. Once registered, tags (digital and physical) will be created and made available to shoppers for adoption. Gifts purchased for the program must be delivered to The Kroc Center for distribution day by Dec. 11.
People only registering for a Christmas food box can register online at www.SAAngelTree.org or in person at The Kroc Center during one of the available registration dates.
Applicants must provide photo identification, meet Health and Human Services poverty guidelines, birth certificates or any official document that lists family members/parent(s)/guardian(s) and children, as well as address verification (dated within 30 days).
In-person registration will take place at The Kroc Center, 405 Vermont from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2; 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4; and 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
