Salvation Army seeking volunteer, paid bell ringers for upcoming holiday season
QUINCY — The Salvation Army is calling on volunteers and offering paid positions to ring bells at red kettle locations across Quincy, Hannibal and nearby areas.
Kettles staffed by bell ringers consistently collect more donations than unmanned silent kettles, making these roles essential in supporting the organization’s mission to help those in need.
People, families and community groups are invited to join the holiday tradition by signing up for shifts as short as two hours. For people looking to make a bigger impact, the “Adopt-A-Kettle” program offers an opportunity to sponsor a kettle for an entire day. Volunteers can also participate virtually by raising funds online through www.registertoring.com.
The Salvation Army is hiring part-time, temporary bell ringers. Shifts will begin on Friday, Nov. 22, and run through Saturday, Dec. 24. Applications for paid positions are available at The Kroc Center, 405 Vermont in Quincy and The Salvation Army Family Store, 200 Steamboat Bend Shopping Center in Hannibal.
Bell ringing hours will be Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
