Salvation Army to ring in Christmas season with first day of red kettles on Friday
QUINCY — The Salvation Army’s red kettles and cheerful bell ringing will begin on Friday, Nov. 22 as the Quincy Area Command launches its Christmas campaign across Quincy and Hannibal. Red kettles will be out at various locations through Christmas Eve, collecting donations to support local families and people in need.
The Salvation Army invites community members, groups and organizations to join in spreading holiday cheer by volunteering as bell ringers. Volunteers can sign up for two-hour shifts or adopt a kettle for a day. Kettles are out every day except Thanksgiving and Sundays.
Go to RegisterToRing.com or contact Dylan Altmix at 217-231-5655 or dylan.altmix@usc.salvationarmy.org to register.
Every dollar dropped in a red kettle goes directly to local programs, funding holiday meals and toys, emergency shelter, job assistance and other vital services in Adams, Brown and Pike counties in Illinois, as well as Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Monroe and Shelby counties in Missouri.
