QUINCY — The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command recently named Slumberland Furniture the 2021 volunteer partner agency of the year.

Since partnering with The Salvation Army in 2018, Slumberland Furniture has provided 60 children with beds through the company’s 40 Winks Foundation in the Quincy and Hannibal area.

In a press release, Salvation Army volunteer coordinator Jeremy Koren said, “No child should ever have to grow up sleeping on the floor or couch. Through our partnership with Slumberland Furniture and its 40 Winks Foundation, we are working together to try and make that a reality.”

The 40 Winks Foundation provides beds free of charge to families with children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor or couch and do not have the financial means to purchase a bed.

Volunteer opportunities are available through the many programs and services The Salvation Army offers in Quincy and Hannibal. For more information about how an person or business can
volunteer, or if you know of a child in need of a bed, contact Koren at 217-231-5633 or
jeremy.koren@usc.salvationarmy.org.
