QUINCY — The Salvation Army recently dedicated Mary’s Garden, a new outdoor space created in tribute to Mary Oakley, whose steadfast leadership and service for 40 years made an impact on the organization and the community. A public dedication ceremony was held on May 23.

Located just outside the front entrance of the Kroc Center at 405 Vermont, Mary’s Garden was designed to beautify the area and provide a place of reflection and inspiration.

Throughout her four decades on the Salvation Army advisory board, Oakley exemplified service, wisdom and generosity. She was previously awarded the title of life member of the advisory board — the highest honor conferred upon board members.
