Bell ringers are needed in Quincy and Hannibal for the upcoming holiday season. Both volunteer and paid positions are available.

QUINCY — The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to ring bells at red kettle locations in Quincy, Hannibal, Mo., and the surrounding area. Kettles with silent bells (unmanned) historically bring in fewer donations than kettles with bell ringers.

Volunteers can sign up online at www.registertoring.com for shifts as short as two hours to “Adopt-A-Kettle” for a day or to virtually ring.

Paid positions also are available this Christmas. Paid positions are considered part-time and temporary. Shifts are available from the first day of kettles starting Friday, Nov. 10, and lasting through Saturday, Dec. 23. Applications for these positions will be available at The Kroc Center, 405 Vermont, and the Salvation Army Family Store in Hannibal, 200 Steamboat Bend Shopping Center, starting Monday, Oct. 16.

The hours for bell ringing are Wednesday through Friday from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. in Quincy and Hannibal and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
