QUINCY — The Salvation Army of Quincy will serve a free community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23.

The meal will be a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. The Salvation Army dinner is open to anyone who needs a place to go on Thanksgiving.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are highly recommended. Only two time slots for seating are available — 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Reservations will be accepted through Nov. 17. Deliveries will be available to shut-ins only with a limited number per household. Shut-ins must provide the following information when calling to request a meal: name, number of meals and address.

Donations of prepackaged baked goods will be accepted at The Kroc Center from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation towards the meal may mail a check to The Salvation Army at P.O. Box 75, Quincy, Ill., 62306-0075.
