Salvation Army to serve free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday

QUINCY — The Salvation Army of Quincy invites community members to its annual Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. This free event will feature a traditional Thanksgiving spread with turkey and all the trimmings, offering a welcoming space for anyone seeking a place to enjoy Thanksgiving. No reservations are required.

The Salvation Army will offer meal deliveries to shut-ins, with a limited number of meals per household. To schedule a delivery, recipients are asked to provide their name, address and the number of meals needed by calling Dylan Altmix at 217-231-5655.

People wishing to contribute financially to support the dinner may mail a check to The Salvation Army at P.O. Box 75, Quincy, IL 62306-0075.

Community members interested in lending a hand are encouraged to contact Altmix to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
