Tickets on sale for Salvation Army’s ‘Unmasking the Singer’ fundraiser on April 25

Unmasking the singer 2025

QUINCY — The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command’s annual fundraiser, “Unmasking the Singer,”  a head-to-head singing competition between local celebrities and community members from Quincy and Hannibal, Mo., will take place April 25 at Town and Country Inn and Suites.

Each contestant will take the stage in a mascot costume, performing in disguise as they compete for votes while raising funds to support The Salvation Army’s homeless prevention services in Quincy and Hannibal.

In a press release, Matt Schmidt, director of development, said, “This event is all about fun, entertainment and shining a light on a critical issue in our community. If we can bring joy and laughter while also helping keep our homeless neighbors off the streets, then we’ve done something meaningful. You may not see the faces of those you’re helping, but your support makes a real difference. By keeping our performers’ identities hidden, we emphasize the need to unmask the reality of homelessness in Quincy and Hannibal.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and a cash bar available. The competition kicks off at 7 p.m. Hosts Schmidt and Chad Douglas will guide the audience through a night of performances. Before each act, clues will be revealed about the masked singer’s identity, adding to the suspense.

Audience members vote with donations ($1 = 1 vote), with the top fundraisers advancing to the final round. The contestant with the most votes in Round 2 will be crowned the winner.

Tickets are $75 per person or $550 for a table of eight. They can be purchased by contacting Jake Reed at 217-231-5647 or Jake.Reed@usc.salvationarmy.org.
