Quincy Regional Airport

QUINCY — Two airlines have submitted bids to the United States Department of Transportation for the Essential Air Service program serving Quincy and its surrounding communities. The DOT has asked the city to submit a recommendation for the bid that best fits the community’s needs by August 19.

The city’s Aeronautics Committee will be the host of a public forum that will allow each airline to present its proposal and answer questions from the public and city officials at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at City Hall. Anyone with an interest in the air service at Quincy Regional Airport is encouraged to attend. The vote for the recommendation is scheduled for the regular Aeronautics Committee meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The full bids can be viewed at www.regulations.gov under docket number DOT-OST-2003-14492. Comments and recommendations can be made directly to the Department of Transportation through the docket.
