One dead following Saturday night crash on U.S. 24

CAMP POINT, Ill. – One person was killed in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 between Coatsburg and Camp Point Saturday night.

The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Officers with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find a vehicle off the north side of U.S. 24 overturned in a large ravine. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No details were yet available on the victim pending Adams County Coroner Scott Graham’s notification of family.
