Tickets available for Salvation Army’s ‘Unmasking the Singer’ fundraiser on April 26
QUINCY — The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command has announced tickets for its fundraiser, “Unmasking the Singer,” are officially on sale. This unique event promises an evening of entertainment, philanthropy and community spirit, all in support of The Salvation Army’s mission to provide vital shelter services for the homeless in Quincy and Hannibal, Mo.
“Unmasking the Singer” brings together local celebrities and community members from Quincy and Hannibal for a singing competition. Donning iconic mascot costumes, participants will take the stage to vie for votes and the coveted title of “Unmasking the Singer” champion. The event will take place on Friday, April 26, at the Town and Country Inn and Suites.
People can buy tickets at salvationarmyquincy.org or by calling The Salvation Army at 217-231-5626. Tickets are $70 per person or $525 for a table of eight. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m., accompanied by a cash bar for refreshments.
The evening’s emcees, director of development Matt Schmidt and donor relations coordinator Chad Douglas, will guide guests through an electrifying lineup of performances. Before each act, clues about the masked singers’ identities will be revealed. Audience members can vote for their favorite acts by making donations, with each dollar equating to one vote.
Following the initial performances, the top three acts with the highest votes will advance to round two, where the competition intensifies. As the audience casts their votes once more, the act with the most support will be crowned the People’s Choice “Unmasking the Singer” winner.
The evening will feature an informative presentation about The Salvation Army’s impactful work and a dinner for all attendees to enjoy.
After the event, participants will embark on a fundraising challenge with each contestant given the opportunity to raise additional funds for The Salvation Army. With online red kettles and various fundraising methods at their disposal, participants will have until May 5 to demonstrate their dedication to the cause.
